Visit Nicoya Peninsula, Tambor in Costa Rica
Many people every year choose to take their vacations somewhere that is warm, exotic and offers plenty of beaches and water activities! If you are a water lover yourself, then there is no better destination than the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. The Nicoya Peninsula is situated in Tambor and this is truly a piece of heaven right here on earth! The scenery is breathtaking, the water clear blue and the soft sand stretches on for miles! If you’re looking for an exotic vacation, you must place this city at the top of your list!
If you’re headed to Tambor, you’ll want to have your swimsuit packed so that you can be ready to hit any one of the fabulous beaches that occupy this area. One of the beaches that you will surely want to include on your itinerary is Cocalitos Beach. You can choose to take a dip in the pool that is surrounded by large rocks for a unique bathing experience or you can simply stare at the El Chorro waterfall – it flows right into the ocean below it! The Panica River is another water spot that you will want to see and there are also paths laid out for those who wish to take a walking tour through this beautiful river. Just be sure to take your tour while the tide is low otherwise you won’t be able to get across the river.
If you like to use your feet for kicking rather than walking, take a dip off-shore of one of the Tortuga Islands. The fabulous water surrounding these waters is bordered on all sides by volcanoes that were once very active and it is due to the activity that these volcanoes saw that the sand is grey instead of the shimmery white sand that you would usually see in exotic locations. The sand is still beautiful and is a perfect resting spot once you climb out of the water after a hard day of snorkeling and diving, which are two of the activities offered in this area. While underwater, you will see some of the most beautiful species of fish that you could imagine.
However, if you want to be on the water instead of in it, Tambor also offers great sport fishing. This area provides professional charter boats that will take you to some of the best fishing areas not only in the Pacific, but in the entire world. You can also choose to travel to great fishing areas by using a more local and traditional means, which is with a panga, a boat that has traditionally been used for fishing. Spend a day catching Mahi-Mahi, Jack, Mackerel, marlin, sailfish, and Wahoo.
Tambor, Costa Rica is definitely a place that you need to visit if you love the sand and the sun. The climate is beautiful, the people are friendly, and there’s plenty of activities, beaches and water to keep everyone as busy or as relaxed as they wish!
